Cost-effectiveness analysis

A cost-effectiveness analysis helps policymakers (such as the Belgian compulsory health insurance fund, NIHDI) to assess whether a medical intervention offers sufficient value for money and whether it is affordable within the healthcare budget.

The KCE publishes detailed methodological guidelines for health economic evaluations. The latest, third edition was published in May 2025 and is the second update of the previous guideline from 2012
